Though teaching was his first priority, Daniel did find time to perform in a variety of different scenarios. These included conducting and playing (woodwind book) for countless musical pit orchestras, playing in big bands, singing with multiple ensembles, starring in musical productions, performing with the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Albany Symphony and even with the Temptations. These experiences would enrich his life and expand his knowledge and appreciation of people, different cultures, and of course, music.
After 32 years of passionate service to his students, school and community, Daniel retired in 2022. It was a month later that he and his husband would move to Spain to open a piano bar/speakeasy on the Costa del Sol. They live near Malaga with their two cats, one of which is the namesake for their bar.
Daniel has made himself available to perform professionally in Spain. In his short time on the Costa del Sol, Daniel has established himself as a top-notch saxophonist, clarinetist, flutist and vocalist. Frequently performing in bars, hotels, restaurants, private events and weddings, Daniel enjoys customizing his playlist to his clients, always learning new music to add to his already vast repertoire.
